Republica BIO case study: how to double sales and have a 50% increase in traffic

In this article, we are presenting the tools and strategy that stores can use to strengthen their online presence. In this case, we are talking about the online store Republica BIO. We started working together in October 2018 and in almost two years the traffic increased by 50%, and sales have doubled.
Currently, Republica BIO has reached an average shopping cart of over 20% higher in 2020 compared to 2019.
Most customers are women between 25 and 44 years old, based in urban area, Android users and interesed in a healthy lifestyle, quality food and wellness.
PPC strategy
Our strategy for the product portfolio provided by Republica BIO involved consolidating the store’s presence on platforms such as Facebook and Google, attracting top of funnel traffic and running Dynamic Remarketing campaigns, which contributed in increasing the conversion rate.
The importance of the products and services provided
The success achieved in 2020 was supported by the introduction of new products in the offer, optimizations made in the online platform, but also by the quality of the services provided, which is confirmed by the store’s awards received in various events.
Since the beginning of the collaboration, the focus has been on the brand’s own products, such as raw honey, nutritional supplements, or functional powders and quality ingredients. For each category, we developed and carried out specific campaigns, with messages adapted to the type of audience to which they were exposed and we communicated in a clear manner the benefits and what these special products do.
The recipe for success
The DESI 2020 study shows that only 10% of the Romanian companies sell online. In our case, this is an excellent indicator helping us determine how much growth potential there is in the e-commerce area. For now, we cannot say that there is no place on the market and that all the niches have been covered.
As we have seen with Republica BIO, Romanians are more and more careful in terms to what they consume, where they buy the products from and tend to take more care of their well-being. The important thing is to get the message to them, and this was our starting point.
What we noticed in the case of Republica BIO, but also working with other partners, is that the recipe for success cannot exist without these pillars:
- a solution for the consumer’s needs
- differentiation through service quality
- strong presence on promotion platforms with investment in marketing and the support of an agency with PPC expertise in e-commerce
- investing in the brand so that people can find out its story.
The mechanisms by which online marketers can grow their business
The collaboration between Optimized and Republica BIO implied involvement in strategy and management of pay per click channels, such as Google, Facebook or Instagram.
The actions carried out so far started from an analysis of the site, the competition and the PPC strategy, with the purpose of developing a new one, adapted to the offer, the customers and the position on the market.
In the two years, we created a framework to drive interest in this type of products and bring the target audience to the website with the help of Google search campaigns and display campaigns on Facebook and Google, and through videos on YouTube.
Currently, the estimate is that sales will be at least double compared to the same period in 2019 in the second half of the year and the 50% increase in traffic will be maintained.
The importance of understanding consumer behavior
For Republica BIO, an important stake was the presence in Search results on Google, where we already have the customers’ intention to buy. This was complemented by an analysis of the critical points in the user’s experience, from the enthusiast stage to the customer stage. As for Facebook, the goal was to reach the right audience, analyzing the interests, the communities it belongs to, but also consumer habits. Through the PPC strategy we proposed, Republica BIO was able to reach the proposed sales multiplier.
