We\u2019ll explain in details the steps we took in the account audit process and the campaign implementation, as well as the outcome.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this week\u2019s blog post, we\u2019ve chosen a special theme, one that will hopefully bring some inspiration for Valentine\u2019s Day as well, and for the first time we\u2019ll share with you the details regarding the approach we\u2019re taking on a PPC account. You are about to find out how we manage to deliver results for the online shops we work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-c839e7d969cc7e391abadc11d2060a32 translation-block\">The customer we are going to talk about in this article is a very dear one to us: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sevensins.ro\/\" target=\"_self\">SevenSins<\/a> \u2013 a lingerie online shop. First and foremost, we would like to thank them for agreeing to disclose this case study. We will try to give you as much useful information on the technical part as possible, but we are counting on you understanding the fact that we cannot disclose confidential details. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SevenSins doesn\u2019t need a very detailed introduction, because it is one if the best lingerie online shops, being on the market for more than 10 years. During the talks, we wanted to understand the following points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>who is the target audience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>who are the competitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what is the SevenSins USP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what are the performance objectives (especially ROI)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what other marketing channels are being used<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what is the seasonality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the initial talk, we received access to the Google Ads account, in order to make a detailed audit. This way, we were able to analyze the real time situation and we managed to identify the main opportunities we can use to grow this account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The results didn\u2019t take long to come, and here we are today, almost one year after we started working together, registering an <strong>increase of more than 60% for the conversions<\/strong>, while the profitability conditions established with the client were fully met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"102\" src=\"https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-44.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1823\" srcset=\"https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-44.png 300w, https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-44-18x6.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>How did we succeed? You will find out from the information below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pas_2_Auditul_contului_Google_Ads\"><\/span>Step 2: Auditing the Google Ads account<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually, whenever we discuss with online shops representatives about the potential in Google Ads, we ask for access to the account (based on an NDA), to better understand the inside situation and to analyze the growth potential. For SevenSins, we have identified a fairly simple account structure, one that yielded decent results, especially thanks to the automated auction type: target CPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we have noticed that certain groups were cannibalizing, certain keywords were set on broad mode and were attracting irrelevant traffic, Search ads were created based on the old format, and the conversion tracking model was last click. Therefore, we already had a few points that required work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-foreground-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0c954c1ae1a167d3828ce6363d50e010 translation-block\">From a technical point of view, we didn\u2019t have recommendations regarding the website: the tracking was already installed correctly, the website was flawlessly optimized for mobile (using <a href=\"https:\/\/while1.ro\/\" target=\"_self\">While1<\/a>, a platform we\u2019ve talked about here). Plus, the telephone conversions were tracked using a solution called VoIP \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.calltrack.ro\/\" target=\"_self\">CallTrack<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pas_3_Strategia_Google_Ads\"><\/span>Step 3: Google Ads strategy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon analyzing the existing campaigns in detail, we started working on the account strategy. Specifically, we\u2019ve covered these aspects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>keyword research<\/strong>: using <a href=\"https:\/\/ads.google.com\/home\/tools\/keyword-planner\/\" target=\"_self\">Keyword Planner<\/a> in particular, we were able to identify the main keywords for the Search campaigns, that were not covered yet in the account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>audience lists research<\/strong>: for Display campaigns we\u2019ve used data acquired from Google Ads and Google Analytics that helped us identifying in-market segments and the preferences of our target audience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>competitors research<\/strong>: the client provided us with data in this regard, but we\u2019ve also used Auction Insights from the Google Ads account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" translation-block\">establishing the <strong>types of messages<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" translation-block\">establishing the <strong>account structure<\/strong>: we\u2019ve created a slightly more complex structure for the Search campaigns, isolating the most searched and profitable categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pas_4_Implementare_campanii_Google_Ads\"><\/span>Step 4: Implementing the Google Ads campaign<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve discussed all the recommendation with the client and received a green light for setting up campaigns. Usually, we take 1-2 weeks for the implementation part, depending on the account\u2019s complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Structura\"><\/span>Structure<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Google\u2019s recommendation is to have an account structure reflecting the categories structure on the website. This will make it easier for you to group and track campaigns. We wanted to treat general <strong>top of funnel<\/strong> searches, such as \u201clingerie\u201d or \u201cunderwear\u201d, separate from <strong>bottom of funnel<\/strong> searches, which were organized in product specific campaigns from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">To ensure that we are completely covered with all the content on the website, we\u2019ve also implemented a Dynamic Search Ads campaign, opting for a <strong>feed based campaign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Also, to protect the brand, we\u2019ve created a <strong>Brand Protect campaign<\/strong>, establishing from the start that its figures will never be integrated into the monthly report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Anunturi\"><\/span>Ads<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the ads, we apply Google\u2019s recommendation to have at least three ads per group in any account we manage. In order to make your work with the account easier, our recommendation is to use these lists without hesitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Model_atribuire_conversii\"><\/span>Conversion attribution model<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In this case, we\u2019ve brought an important change, switching the account on <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/google-ads\/answer\/6394265?hl=en\" target=\"_self\">Data-driven attribution<\/a>. The main reason behind this decision was the fact that we already had the necessary conversions to switch on this model, and we knew, from our previous experience with managing similar accounts in terms of attribution volume, that DDA will work wonders together with target CPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Liste_de_audienta_si_Remarketing\"><\/span>Audience lists and Remarketing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve tried to make the most of the remarketing lists available in both Search and Display campaigns (lists of the past 30 days containing users without conversions or users who spend long time on the website etc.). We\u2019ve also added some audience lists (In-Market Segment \u2013 Apparel &amp; Lingerie) that we wanted to monitor in the Search campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Campanii_Display\"><\/span>Display campaigns<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We love testing new features in the accounts, especially if we feel that there is a good conversion potential and we know for sure that we\u2019ll have a decent ROI. So, we didn\u2019t hesitate to implement Smart Display campaigns for the swimwear collections. The novelty last year was that we were able to optimize the campaign and pay for conversions, which helped us a lot in terms of profitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"130\" src=\"https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1826\" srcset=\"https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47.png 300w, https:\/\/optimized63241cc15f0e8.cloud.bunnyroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47-18x8.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Another Display feature that is starting to fascinate us more and more is <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/google-ads\/answer\/9069938\" target=\"_self\">Custom Intent<\/a> targeting. In this case, we believe that there are huge opportunities for brands to reach the appropriate audience. For confidential reasons, we are unable to disclose the type of targeting used with Custom Intent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pas_5_Rezultate_obtinute_in_Google_Ads\"><\/span>Step 5: Google Ads results<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Almost one year after we started working with SevenSins we\u2019ve managed to increase the number of conversions in the account by 61%.
